Brazilian new oil fields

The Brazilian oil regulatory entity, ANP, received, in 2004 and 2005 (up to july), 12 notifications of oil finds able for commercial exploration, including new commercial fields informed by Petrobras, Aurizonia, Texaco / Devon and Encan.

Conclusions

The Brazilian supply boat market has a firm demand, considering deep water oil development for the next years;

Local market under intense competition by 27 supply boat companies;

Construction in local shipyards became a good option for international and local companies, due to competitive construction prices and financing;

World deep water oil and gas is the new trend and will keep a demand pressure on the international supply boat fleet;

A supply boat operation in Brazil contributes for the local economy with investments and jobs generation.

Petrobras vessel identification:

AHTS – Anchor Handling Tug Suply - 16.000 HP, cargo capacity up to 2.000 DWT.

TS - Tug Supply – 3.000 HP and cargo capacity up to 1,400 DWT.

PSV – Platform Supply Vessel – 3,000 HP and cargo capacity up from 2.000 DWT.

SV - SupplyVessel- 2,400 HP and cargo capacity of 1.500 DWT.

MS - Mini-supply –2,000 HP; 300 DWT.

LH –Line Handling 1.200 to 1.500 HP; 500 DWT.

UT –Utility – 2,000 HP; 120 DWT

CREW – 1,500 HP, 50 DWT. For deep water crew transportation a Fast Supply was developed for crew and essential small cargo – 1,750 HP, 140 DWT.

OSRV – Oil Spill Recovery Vessel

Pipe laying vessels, well stimulation and other specialized vessels were not included on the basic supply boat fleet list.
